Dwayne Johnson and John Cena’s WWE rivalry is still a hot topic of conversation among fans. The Rock has even said that their rivalry was not staged while admitting that both of them had real problems with each other. Their feud was even described as one of the most realistic feuds in WWE history. And this only got worst when the Peacemaker star called out The Rock for his sneaky tricks during an episode of Raw in 2012.

Dwayne Johnson’s Scandalous Promo Notes

Before becoming a superstar actor, Dwayne Johnson was known for his accomplishments in the WWE ring. Fans loved the former wrestler for his wrestling and the way he grabbed everyone’s attention when he took the stage for promos.

However, during the 2012 RAW, something unexpected happened when John Cena accused The Rock of having cheat notes for his promos. Cena and The Rock got involved in a heated argument after The Suicide Squad star confronted him about having promo notes on his wrist. It was the moment that is deemed the reason for taking their on-screen rivalry into real life.

Johnson seemed pretty annoyed with Cena interrupting his promo. However, the Fast and Furious star totally lost it when Cena claimed that he had promo notes on his wrist. Johnson, who was a little taken aback, said, “You will go down in history, always as The Rock’s b*tch.”

The Red Notice star’s reaction to the whole situation even puzzled fans, on whether the whole thing was scripted or if John Cena really took a personal hit on The Rock. But nothing was clarified. Some fans even tried figuring out the words written on The Rock’s wrist. And during a recent episode of the WWE Rivals, the F9 star revealed what went down backstage, moments before his promo.

During a recent episode of WWE Rivals, a series that features the stories behind some of the biggest clashes in WWE history, John Cena recalled his 2012 RAW encounter with The Rock. He shared that moments before he was supposed to be on his way to the ring, someone backstage pointed out that The Rock had something written on his wrist.

“Rock doing his thing with me going out to interrupt him. And 90 seconds before my music hit, someone to not be named said, ‘yo, do you see that?’”

The Marine star further added that after seeing it, everyone was talking about how this is not allowed and how they could use it to their advantage. It’s still unclear if the whole thing was scripted or if John Cena just happened to see the words scribbled on The Rock’s wrist and really made the best of it. And it kind of worked, as WWE fans loved seeing the two biggest and most popular WWE stars going off against each other.
