Nigerian couple celebrates quintuplets’ first birthday despite challenges

A Nigerian couple, Oluwakemi Funmilayo Aminu and her husband, Mark Imudia Uduehi, recently celebrated the first birthday of their quintuplets.

The children were reportedly born in Abuja when Uduehi, originally from Ekpoma in the Esan West local government area, was unemployed, while his wife worked for the Nigerian Population Commission in Abuja.

During an interview a year ago, Uduehi expressed her joy at the arrival of her children and asked the government and well-meaning Nigerians for help. He expressed his gratitude to God for blessing them with healthy children, but recognized the great responsibility that comes with raising even one child.

Therefore, she pleaded with the government, well-meaning Nigerians and business organizations to support her family in caring for the children.

Ms. Oluwakemi also expressed her happiness for the safe delivery, mentioning that the birth occurred naturally.

She shared that she was working as a civilian worker for the Nigerian Population Commission in Abuja, while her husband was actively seeking employment. Due to financial constraints, they currently reside in a one-bedroom apartment in Lugbe.

However, with the arrival of their five children, they now require a larger apartment and financial assistance to meet their needs, particularly to buy food and clothing for babies. They happily celebrated their quintuplets’ first birthday!

Fortunately, the federal government offered Uduehi a position at the Nigerian Construction and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) in Abuja. Additionally, through the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Scheme (FISH), the couple was assigned a three-bedroom cabin in one of the communities.
