10 Characters Most Likely To Show Up In The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is all about Rick and Michonne, but that doesn’t mean other characters from the TWD universe won’t show up.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is all about Rick and Michonne, but there are compelling new characters as well, like Okafar, Nat, General Beale, and Pearl Thorne, as well as returning ones like Jadis. As the latest spin-off in the expanding The Walking Dead universe, fans are always excited for the prospect of a cameo appearance or crossover. Not everyone would make sense for this show, however. But there are ways that a few could appear.

There’s no official confirmation about any of The Walking Dead characters making an appearance on The Ones Who Live. But if there were to be, either in person, flashback, or even radio call, there are a few who top the list as being the most likely to appear for different reasons.

10Heath Went MIA

Last Seen:The Walking Dead, Season 7.Status:Gone Missing/Captured

Heath tops the list of characters who fans believe might actually make an appearance on the show. Heath mysteriously disappeared from The Walking Dead, and the reason was mainly because the actor who plays him, Corey Hawkins, had been cast in several high-profile movies like Black KkKlansman and Straight Outta Compton, as well as the lead in the short-lived 24 spin-off 24: Legacy. He was written out as having been traded to a mysterious organization by Jadis while he was on a scouting mission with Tara.

Later, showrunner Angela Kang confirmed that this organization was indeed the CRM, fitting with the reveal that Jadis was trading people with them (including Rick). This would mean that Heath was either used for experimentation, deemed an “A,” or put to work on consignment as a “B,” an everyday Joe just trying to survive. He’s the most logical character for Rick to encounter. He was never shown in the spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which focused on the happenings at the CRM. Nonetheless, Heath being part of The Ones Who Live would be a nice way to tie up his storyline.

9Morgan Jones Wants To Get Back to Rick

Last Seen:

Fear the Walking Dead, Season 8

Status:

Lef to Go to Alexandria, Find Rick

An original character in The Walking Dead and one of few from season 1 who is still alive, Morgan left The Walking Dead and crossed over to Fear the Walking Dead as part of his character’s journey. He left before the end of that series. Reeling from the death of Grace, happy to get his daughter Mo back, and desperate to stop the cycle of losing people and then losing himself, he came full circle and decided to go back to Alexandria with the young girl. He expected to see Rick there, and it’s possible that when he arrived and learned that Rick was gone, he decided to go looking for him.

It would be a beautiful full-circle moment since Morgan is the first person Rick finds after waking from his coma. If Morgan believes that his good friend and confidante Rick is in trouble, he will likely do whatever he can to find and help bring him back home. Or, if theories about Rick dying are true, he could be among the last to see him alive (or one of the last faces Rick sees in a flashback before he dies).

8Judith is Waiting For Her Dad

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead, Season 11

Status:

Living at The Commonwealth

The likeliest cameo would be from Judith if Rick and Michonne make it back home and he is finally reunited with his daughter. It’s also possible Judith could be in communication with him and Michonne through radio, and thus we only hear her voice. Whatever the case, fans are hoping for a tearful reunion between father and daughter.

Rick, it’s worth noting, left The Walking Dead before the six-year time jump, which means he hasn’t seen the fierce and precocious young girl that Judith has become. For him to reunite with her would be wonderful closure should the show end after its first season.

7Elizabeth Kublek Might Already Be in CRM Jail

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Season 2

Status:

Jailed, Waiting to Stand Trial at the CRM

Elizabeth Kublek was the Lieutenant Colonel of the CRM, a primary antagonist of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. She was running things, including ordering the bombing of Nebraska that kicks off the story in World Beyond (and is mentioned in the first episode of The Ones Who Live). Thus, based on the timeline, she is still in power for much of Rick’s early time at the CRM. By the end of that show when the Civic Republic Research Facility has fallen, she is arrested and is set to stand trial for treason, at the hands of Jadis.

Depending on how the timelines align, Elizabeth could be seen in The Ones Who Live while she is still in power, while in jail, or potentially released. Whatever the case, she is on site at the CRM so it would be logical for the character to make an appearance of some kind.

6Silas Plaskett Could Help Save Rick

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Season 2

Status:

Working for Jadis and the CRM

Silas is one of the survivors of the Nebraska bombing in World Beyond who sets out with other students and CRM head of security Felix and security guard Huck to uncover secrets that the CRM has been hiding. He still wants to take the organization down for good. He starts working at a Civic Republic Cull Facility. But following the death of his boss Dennis along with Huck, he is approached by Jadis to join the CRM. She sees him as a vulnerable kid she can manipulate, but little does she know that he is still trying to infiltrate the organization and effectively work as a mole. The story ended here since World Beyond was not renewed after its second season. So, he could potentially be someone who helps Rick fight the CRM.

Seeing his journey, whether he continues on a righteous path or becomes a villain under Jadis, would be an interesting twist for fans who watched that short-lived spin-off. Even as a tertiary character, his presence would be a clever Easter Egg for die-hard fans of the franchise.

5Daryl Dixon Misses His Best Friend

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Season 1

Status:

In France

While it’s unlikely that Daryl would crossover to this show while he’s already heading up his own spin-off, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, it’s a possibility. He was last seen in France, living with a community of survivors after succeeding in his task to bring the young boy Laurent to them. But he was itching to go back home, particularly knowing that Rick could still be alive and not knowing the fate of Michonne’s journey to find him. While he is about to leave France, Laurent is seen in the distance, pleading for him to come back. Daryl’s smile suggests that he might stay.

Interestingly, however, with the second season of that show focused on Carol’s journey to find Daryl, it’s possible they could meet somewhere in the middle, or that there’s a parallel story told of Daryl heading off to find Rick. If he somehow figures out Rick’s location through communication with Michonne or other methods, it would make sense that Daryl would set out on his own rescue mission. Given how distraught he was when Rick was presumed dead, and how valiantly he searched when he believed his friend was still alive, these worlds could collide in some way.

4Carol is Always A Hero

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Season 1

Status:

On the Road in Maine, Looking For Daryl

It has been confirmed that Carol, one of the group’s resident heroes, will be a lead character in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’s confirmed Season 2. She’s on her mission to find Daryl, so it’s not likely that the story will divert from this. However, since she’s still in America, it’s possible that Carol could somehow come across Rick before (or after) she finds him. After all, she has, time and time again, shown up in the nick of time just when the group needs her, like she did at Terminus.

She was last seen in Freeport, Maine. The CRM outpost where Rick is located is in Philadelphia. Those two places are about an 8.5-hour drive away from one another, 200 hours on foot, so it’s entirely possible that Carol could make her way there. That’s versus traveling across the ocean to France. Seeing as she has a car, it’s possible she could somehow make it to Philadelphia if Rick remains there. That might complicate the stories, however, but Carol could show up in some fashion, even if through flashbacks or dream sequences.

3Negan Isn’t Far Away

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1

Status:

On Manhattan Island, Mulling Over Leading a Community

Negan is in New York, which is a hop, skip, and jump away from Philadelphia. He is last seen in the spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City on Manhattan Island being courted (rather threatened) by The Dama to help her unite the various communities to fight the New Babylon Federation. They are after her natural resources and the scientific work The Croat has done to turn the undead bodies into a source of fuel. She believes, based on what she knows about Negan (thanks to Hershel) that he’s the perfect person to lead, which sets up the second season nicely.

Negan could go on a run of some kind to Philadelphia, or Rick, should he be able to escape with Michonne, could make his way to or through New York. With that said, the timelines might not sync up since The Walking Dead: Dead City takes place five years after the last episode of The Walking Dead. Unless there’s another time jump in The Ones Who Live, Negan might be too far ahead to make sense. Rick could potentially have flashbacks of Negan, however, particularly if he learns that Judith eventually took a liking to him, and he once saved her life.

2Maggie Might Need Reinforcements

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1

Status:

In New York with Hershel

As with Negan, Maggie exists in her timeline a few years ahead of The Ones Who Live, so an appearance by her in any way other than potentially a flashback might not make sense. She was last seen with a brooding Hershel. He is angry that his mother can’t let her vendetta against Negan go and just wants her to be able to live peacefully with him. She is finally trying to do just that despite how much she still grieves for Glenn and what Negan did to him.

With Negan’s storyline poised to be that of a villain again in season 2, however, Maggie might find this difficult. What she doesn’t know is that if Negan entertains the idea, which he likely will, it’s only to save Hershel’s life. Nonetheless, there’s so much other story going on with Maggie that she will likely stick only with that show. But there could be some type of communication between her and Rick, Michonne, or both, even if from afar.

1RJ Needs To Meet His Dad

Last Seen:

The Walking Dead, Season 11

Status:

Living at The Commonwealth

Michonne became pregnant with RJ before Rick left, presumed dead. He was not aware that she was pregnant, and because of several time jumps, fans got to see RJ from the time he was in Michonne’s stomach to when he became a young boy. The last he was seen, he was living happily in The Commonwealth with his older sister Judith. He knew little about his father Rick other than that he wore a sheriff’s hat and was referred to as “The Brave Man.”

Once Rick knows of RJ’s existence, it will likely fuel a fire in him to get back to not only his daughter but also the son he never met and didn’t even know he had. If the series ends on a happy note, there could be a reunion. If Michonne finds a radio and can speak to the Commonwealth, Rick may only hear his son’s voice. Nonetheless, a cameo of some kind from RJ would make sense for this show.
